# Workspaces

Separate brands, clients and test environments into workspaces, then manage access and billing.

A workspace keeps one business or brand's contacts, campaigns, journeys and settings together. Use separate workspaces for another brand, a client or a test environment. You can join several with one login and have a different role in each.

## When to use another workspace

- **A separate brand or business.** Juniper Kitchen's catering arm could have its own workspace with its own list and sending domain.
- **A client you manage.** The client invites you to their workspace, and you switch between it and your own.
- **Testing.** A staging workspace lets your developers try things without touching real customers.

Within one brand, you usually don't need another workspace: groups, segments and topics are the better way to split your audience.

## What each workspace keeps separate

Each workspace has its own:

- contacts, groups, segments and forms
- campaigns, journeys, templates and media
- sending domains and push apps
- team members and their roles
- settings, API keys and integrations
- unsubscribes: someone who unsubscribes from one workspace can still hear from another

A sending domain can be verified in only one workspace. For a test workspace, use a subdomain such as `staging.juniperkitchen.com`.

## What's shared

- **Your login.** One email address and password, and one two-factor setup, for every workspace.
- **Your plan.** A plan belongs to the owner and covers every workspace they own. See [Plans and billing](/docs/guides/account/plans-and-billing).
- **Protection from bounces and spam complaints.** If an address bounced or marked you as spam in one of your workspaces, your other workspaces won't email it either. This protects your sending reputation.

## Create a workspace

1. Open your account menu and choose **New workspace**.
2. Enter a **Workspace name**.
3. Kirora creates it, makes you its owner and switches you into it.

Then set up the basics, starting with [Create your workspace](/docs/guides/getting-started/create-your-workspace) and [Set up a sending domain](/docs/guides/getting-started/set-up-a-sending-domain).

There's a limit to how many workspaces one login can own. Workspaces you were invited to don't count toward it.

## Switch workspaces

1. Open your account menu. Under **Workspaces**, you'll see every workspace you belong to, with a tick next to the one you're in.
2. Choose another workspace to switch to it.
3. To choose which workspace opens when you sign in, switch to it and choose **Open at sign-in**.

If someone has invited you to a workspace, it appears in the same list with an **Accept** button.

## Leave a workspace

Open your account menu and choose **Leave this workspace**. You lose access straight away and need a new invitation to come back. You can't leave your only workspace, and the owner can't leave until they've made someone else the owner. See [Security and access](/docs/guides/account/security-and-access).

## Delete a workspace

The owner can delete a workspace from **Settings › Danger zone › Delete workspace**. Sending stops straight away, and you can cancel during a grace period before everything is removed for good.
